I had a wonderful opportuity the weekend after Christmas to shoot photographs for a beautiful bride at her Bridesmaid's Brunch. I had never met her before, but the cool thing about being a photographer is building new relationships with people in front and behind the camera.

"Life is so much better when you love your work"
Hey family, friends, and guests! I am officially starting my dream job, if you will, as a Photographer. For the sake of getting to know me as a photographer, I will start with the basics. My name is Melissa Echols, and I reside in the great city of Birmingham, Alabama. My husband and I were married on August 2, 2008, and it was by far the best day of my life. God has truly blessed me with the knowledge of my purpose in this world-to become a photographer. I love to meet new people, build new relationships, and capture memories for people of all ages and backgrounds.
My passion for photography goes much deeper than anything else I do in my life. I have been nicknamed the"Paparazzi" in my family and friends because I always have a camera on hand ready to take a picture. I hope that through my photographs, you will see that I thrive on relationships and capturing real moments, and all the fun stuff in between as well. The following pictures are from my first session with some of my close friends, John and Stacy. They graciously gave me the opportunity to take their Christmas card pictures as well as regular shots that they would like to decorate their beautiful home with. Please enjoy...
